특수학교 학교기업 카페에서 근무하는 어느 지적장애인 바리스타의 하루

A Story of Barista with Intellectual Disability working in a School-Based Enterprise Café

이 연구의 목적은 문화기술지 연구방법을 활용하여 특수학교 학교기업 카페에서 바리스타로 근무하고 있는 어느 지적장애인의 직업 생활과 ‘특수학교 학교기업 카페’라는 공간을 내부자적인 관점에서 심층적으로 이해하는 데 있었다. 이를 위하여 지적장애인 바리스타와 그를 둘러싼 주변인을 중심으로 3E(면담, 참여관찰, 현지자료)를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 스프래들리의 발전식 연구절차에 따라 반복적인 자료 해체 및 범주화로 특수학교 학교기업 바리스타의 직업생활 영역(3가지)과 특수학교 학교기업 카페에서 구성원들이 공유하는 문화영역(5가지)에 대한 문화적 주제를 도출하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 바리스타 직원은 직장에서 포괄적인 직업 관련 기술을 사용하고 있었으며, 물리적 지원과 심리적 지원을 함께 제공받고 있었다. 둘째, 카페 구성원 및 주변인은 이 공간에 대하여 ‘장애인 당사자의 의견이 소외’된 측면이 있지만, ‘분업을 통한 협력’, ‘경쟁과 보호’, ‘반복적인 직무지도’가 이루어지는 곳이자 장애에 대한 인식개선의 장(場)이라고 생각하고 있었다. 이 연구의 결과는 향후 특수학교 학교기업의 운영과 직업교육의 실효성 확보를 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the occupational life of a person with an intellectual disability who works as a barista in a Special School’s School-Based Enterprise (SBE) café. . Here, an insider perspective and study on this person’s experience in the SBE will be conducted using the ethnography method. This study collected data and interviews from a female participant who works as a café barista, as well as from other participants around her, research journals, non-observational data, and photographs. This data will then be repeatedly disbanded and categorized with accordance to “Spradley's developmental research procedure.” The results depict three cultural themes within the occupational life area of the female barista according to the working schedule and five cultural themes drawn by the members of the café. The members conveyed that the female barista used comprehensive vocational skills and had received both physical and psychological supports. They also recognized this space as a venue for many different elements: alienation of the opinions of the disabled, cooperation through the division of labor, competition and protection, repeated job guidance, and improvement of awareness for the disability. These findings can be used as basic data to explore the direction and possible alternatives of practical vocational education regarding the running of the SBE project. This data has the potential to improve the employment rate of students with intellectual disabilities in the future.
