수운(최재우)의 불연기연(不然其然) 사상을 통한 장애인관의 코페르니쿠스적 전회(轉回)

A Copernican Turn of the View of the Disabled Through Suwun (Choi Jae-woo)’s “Bulyeon-Giyeon (不然其然)”

이 연구는 수운 최재우의 불연기연(不然其然) 세계관을 토대로 새로운 장애인관에 대해 논의한다. 연구 방법과 내용으로는 수운의 불연기연(不然其然)을 개념화하고, 우리 사상에 근거한 장애인관을 확립하고자 한다. 이 연구는 장애인에 대한 관점 형성에 큰 영향을 끼치는 종교적 관점 중 기독교의 장애인에 대한 관점을 비판적으로 접근함으로써 장애가 신의 영역에 의한 특별한 사태가 아닌 인간 삶의 자연스러운 한 형태임을 수운의 불연기연(不然其然)을 통해 논의한다. 또한 장애를 바라보는 관점이 물질적 구조에 기인하며, 이러한 구조가 불변을 전제로 한 서구의 고정된 사유 체계에 의존하고 있고, 그 세계관을 통해 장애인의 통합과 분리의 기계적이고 차이 없는 헐벗은 반복이 이어지고 있음을 논의한다. 이러한 기존의 장애인에 대한 관점 전환을 위해 노자(老子)의 사유와 조선 유학의 전통적 흐름을 총화(總和)하여 서구 세계관에 정면 대응한 수운의 불연기연(不然其然)을 통해 새로운 장애인관을 제시한다.

This study discusses a new perspective on the disabled, based on Choi Suwun’s idea, “Bulyeon-Giyeon (不然其然)”. The method and contents of this study conceptualize the idea of the “Bulyeon-Giyeon (不然其然)” world, and establish a perspective on the disabled based on the idea of “we”. The study examines concepts through Suwun’s idea (“Bulyeon-Giyeon (不然其然)”) that disability is a natural form of human life, and not a special situation caused mainly by the realm of God, by critically approaching the Christian philosophy on the disabled originating from religious viewpoints and which have had a great influence on people’s general perspectives toward the disabled. In addition, based on a material-oriented system and its constancy, the Western view of the disabled has continued to repeat the meaningless and mechanical repetition of the integration and separation of the disabled in the world. In order to change such a Western traditional approach, this research suggests a new perspective, counteracting the point of view of Westerners toward the disabled, and focusing on Lao-tzu’s thinking and a traditional flow of Josen’s Confucianism.
