유아교육 전공 체험 학습을 통한 고교생의 진로 인식 탐색

Exploring high school students' major and career recognition through Early Childhood Education major experiential learning -Focused on movement education for young children-

연구목적 본 연구는 전공 체험 학습을 통한 고교생의 진로 및 전공 인식을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법 2023년 5월 2주 충청남도 소재 C 대학교의 'Open University' 프로그램 유아교육과 체험 학습에 참여한 S고등학생을 대상으로 하였다. 전공 체험 학습 후 연구 참여자들에게 학과 및 전공 체험에 대한 저널쓰기를 실시하였다. 수집 자료는 범주화하여 질적 분석을 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아교육 전공 체험 학습 참여 고교생들은 유아교육과 전공 학습에 대한 놀라움, 당혹감을 느끼면서 유아교육에 대한 재인식의 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 유아교육 전공 체험 학습 참여 고교생들은 자신의 적성 및 성향과 특성에 맞는 진로를 진지하게 성찰하는 모습을 보였다. 학생들은 현재 희망 진로는 아니나 자신의 성향을 발견하고 유아교육의 특성과 전공과 잘 맞을 수 있다는 인식을 보였다. 또한, 자신의 학창시절 체육 시간의 부적절한 훈육과 교육 경험을 반추하면서 의미 있고 적절한 동작교육에 대한 필요성과 가치에 대한 인식을 나타내었다. 결론 첫째, 유아교육을 전공하고자 하는 고교생이 유아교육과 유아교사직에 대한 실제 이해를 도울 수있도록 고교와 대학이 연계된 전공 체험 기회가 지속적으로 제공되어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 고교생의 진로 의식을 발달을 위해 자신감 증진, 학교 현장의 적절한 지도가 요청된다.

Purpose: This study was conducted to explore high school students’ career and major recognition through major experiential learning. Methods: S high school students who participated in an “Open University” program at C university in Chungcheongnamdo were targeted. Participants were asked to write a journal about their departmental and major experiential learning. The collected data were categorized, and content analysis wasconducted. Results: First, the high school students who participated in the major experiential learning expressed both astonishment and perplexity while re-evaluating Childhood Education. Second, high school students who participated in the study examined their propensities and careers in earnest. Although Childhood Education was not their current desired career path, students discovered their interests and the recognition that it could fit with their individual propensities emerged. Furthermore, student sreflected on their past inappropriate discipline and education in Physical Education classes and recognized the value and importance of appropriate movement education. Conclusion: First, opportunities for experiential majors linked to high schools and universities should be continuously provided to help high school students. Second, to develop high school students' career awareness, confidence enhancement and appropriate guidance at school are required.
