중등 영어 임용시험 영시 분석과 고등학교 교과목 <영미문학읽기>를 활용한 개선 방안

Analysis and Suggestions on the Poems of Secondary School English Teacher Certification Exam with a High School Class Subject, English Literature Reading

This study analyzes the English poems which were on the Secondary School English Teacher Certification Exam and recommends suitable poems for the exam by observing a high school class subject, entitled English Literature Reading. The previous exam poems were analyzed according to their special topics like “death” or difficulty levels of sentence structure in relation to an actual educational field. Other exam poems were examined with regard to their subjects concerning child literature or contemporary social issues. The previous exam poems, however, did not reflect enough actual educationa field for the EFL students. The Education Ministry plan for the English Literature Reading suggests using children’s poetry and songs as class room text, and engaging in writing and reading poetry activities. To improve the utilization of English poetry in EFL classrooms, it is crucial for the English Teacher Certification Exam to consider the actual education field.
