한중 대비를 통해 본 ‘NP1+NP2+V’구조의 주어 설정 문제

On the Subject in the Korean and Chinese ‘NP1+NP2+V’ Structure

This paper compares the ‘NP1-i/ga+NP2-i/ga+V’ structure in Korean with its counterpart in Chinese to investigate whether the ‘NP2+V’ is a clause as the predicate or a phrase as the predicate. By using the parameters of the movability of the elements, the addition of adverbs or auxiliary verbs, and the features of comparatives, we find that the NP1 and the NP2 are interchangeable if they can be identified as two elements and if mood particles or pause markers can be added to the clause. Besides, in the ‘NP1-i/ga+NP2-i/ga+V’ structure in Korean, the particle ‘-i/ga’ after NP2 does not serve as a nominative particle, though it is of the same form as the normative particle, and thus it is more proper to take NP2 as a non-subject element instead of the subject. Moreover, considering the features of comparatives, we further prove that NP1 functions as the only subject in the structure and ‘NP2+V’ is not a clause as the predicate but a phrase as the predicate.
