Boasting a history of 76 years, Korean language education has achieved many remarkable results and become an essential part of foreign language education in China. However, in recent years, the influence of China’s new education policy has greatly affected Korean language education. Therefore, this study first examined the status quo of undergraduate and postgraduate Korean language education in Chinese universities and identified problems such as low satisfaction with employment and imbalance in graduate education. In addition, this study has examined whether the talent cultivation programs, curriculum, teachers and textbooks can meet the requirements of the new education standards and the teaching guide. It is hoped that this study can not only help Korean language educators understand China’s new education policy, but also provide some references for Korean language educators in Chinese universities when they develop talent cultivation programs.
