In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the educational environment crosses offline and online, and the real-time conference platform and metaverse platform that have been previously used will be selectively used depending on the situation. In Korean language discussion classes for academic purposes, metaverse can be useful in that learners need space for online tools and interactions at the same time because they need to search for information using the Internet to prepare discussion. Therefore, in this study, Korean discussion classes in hybrid classrooms that compensated for the shortcomings of full online classes or full offline classes were conducted using 3D-based spatial among metaverse platforms. The results are as follows. First, learners were able to feel the sense of reality by utilizing the sense of space in the discussion class, and showed relatively high interest. Second, the metaverse was useful in the preparation stage of discussion. The knowledge necessary for discussion was able to be searched within class, and cooperative learning was activated by sharing the searched contents, discussing them together, and taking notes on virtual space. Third, it will be possible to improve Korean language discussion skills and use them for discussion evaluation by utilizing more advanced technologies in the future. Thanks to the development of global technology, various attempts are needed to utilize it in Korean language education.
