In this article the nature and content of 20 stories contained in <조선어교제문전 부주해 (朝鮮語交際文典 附註解 Schlüssel zur Koreanischen Konversations-Grammatik>, compiled by Andreas Eckardt(1884-1974, Korean name 옥낙안(玉樂安), are analyzed. The stories in Schlüssel zur Koreanischen Konversations-Grammatik are reality-centered excluding myths, fantasy stories and ghost stories. In addition, as it encourages conduct, wisdom, love, and honesty, and is wary of foolishness, its educational value is revealed as a Korean textbook. Eckardt recognized the stories as a way to understand Korean thinking and mind. According to the romantic trend of German folklore, Eckardt's story collection can be seen as originating from the habitus of German folklore that continued after the Grimm brothers (Jacob Grimm, 1785-1863 Wilhelm Grimm, 1786-1859). The active and lively story performances that were popular in Korea at the time became a source of data. However, there are some limitations. He was conscious of Japan because Korea was under the cultural rule of Japan at that time. Apart from his personal affection for Korea, he saw Korea as an object of edification since he was not free from the view of German imperialism and Orientalism. Through the 20 stories considered in this paper, it was revealed that the text book has the characteristics of an integrated textbook for grammar and reading. (Chongshin Univ.)
