This study will discuss the integration of language and culture teaching by using idiomatic expressions, which include both linguistic and cultural contents. We first review preliminary studies on phraseology and phraseo-didactics to understand recent research trends. Second, we will explore the possibility of introducing idiomatic expressions to integrate language and culture teaching in actual French education, especially based on an intercultural approach. Finally, a teaching model for integrating language and culture by using French idiomatic expressions will be proposed for B1 French learners in Korean universities.
