텍스트 결속 단위에 따른 보조사 ‘도’의 결속 양상 연구

A Study on text binding aspect of Auxiliary Particle ‘do’ in written texts of Chinese learners

The auxiliary particle ‘do’ is a characteristic cohesive device of Korean language which does not exist in English or Chinese language. Meanwhile, the studies on cohesive device centered on written texts of Chinese learners in the Korean language education have been conducted in relatively active ways, the discussions on the auxiliary particle ‘do’ as a cohesive device were not emphasized. Therefore, this study is distinguished from the existing studies to highlight its specific device aspect of how the auxiliary particle ‘do’ connects units, targeting written texts of Chinese learners. For this purpose, after classifying the cohesive devices in written texts of Chinese learners into within-sentence, between-sentence, between-paragraph according to binding units, this study examines which binding unit is most frequently used when connecting the auxiliary particle ‘do’ by Chinese learners. Then, this study also examines which binding unit has most frequent errors when using the auxiliary particle ‘do’ and the associated reasons. Moreover, this study investigates the text binding aspects of the auxiliary particle ‘do’ in within-sentence, between-sentence, between-paragraph by comparing them to the binding aspects of Korean native speakers in detail. It is expected that these findings can provide significant basic materials for teaching appropriate texts close to the target language to Korean language learners by utilizing the auxiliary particle ‘do’.
