계승어 교육 측면에서 본 재외동포 한국어 교육과정 분석

Analysis of Korean Language Curricula for Overseas Koreans from the Aspects of Heritage Language Education: Focused on the general theory

The purpose of this article is to analyze some major Korean language curricular for overseas Koreans from the aspects of heritage language education, finally in order to seek the developmental direction of Korean language education as a heritage language education. Firstly, this article reviews the concept of heritage language and some existing studies on this subject for the purpose of drawing some issues(i.e., target learner, language usage environment, final access goal, learner’s identity, teaching method, etc.) on Korean heritage language education. And then, five major Korean language curricular for overseas Koreans are analyzed round these issues. Finally, this article is concluded by proposing some development or improvement directions of the Korean language curriculum as heritage language as follows. (1) Korean language curriculum for overseas Koreans should be a heritage language curriculum. (2) Korean heritage language curriculum requires final access goal setting and teaching method considering overseas Koreans characteristic. (3) The content and structure of Korean heritage language curriculum should consider overseas Koreans double identity.
