This study generally explores findings of the Korean education assessment studies that were conducted from the intial stage of Korean education through 2011, categorizes and analyzes them in order to understand its history of studies and changes. To do this, 1) relevant papers and books were classified by year, 2) theses, dissertations and brief papers were classified by type, and 3) the general Korean education, proficiency tests, achievement tests, academic purpose tests, performance evaluation and other types of assessment were categorized by topic. On the basis of the analysis, improvements and suggestions have been made for the assessment research of the future Korean education.
