This study aimed to introduce Korean textbooks intended for children from multi-cultural families and to examine if those were well-balanced for basic literacy learning activities. In terms of Korean textbook analysis methods, this study selected three basic level textbooks for basic literacy improvement, divided the activities into four fields, and analyzed them. Four fields were basis of literacy, vocabulary learning, acknowledging Korean alphabet, and understanding meaning, The study investigated which fields the activity of each textbook applies to by detailed items based on the balanced approach. Results showed that all three textbooks were imbalanced; especially, vocabulary learning accounts for the lowest part of four fields.
