According to the increase of ‘wives of interracial marriage’ and ‘foreign students’, various studies for effective and efficient Korean education are being published for them. However, most of them centered on status of two groups and ‘scheme’ for desirable Korean education. It is hare to find observation studies or experiment studies on their actual language usage. This study examines spoken language characteristic of wives of interracial marriage who are exposed the natural environment. Thus what kind of distinctive features wives of interracial marriage have when they use Korean language through focused group interview and observe what causes communication failure in the interaction and which strategies they use through operating of focused group. Particularly, it briefly looks into phonological, morphological, syntactic and conversational aspects of wives of interracial marriage. This kind of basic study is necessary in that this can offer basic information on educational policy establishment and an appropriate curriculum establishment for wives of interracial marriage who don’t have official language and culture education in the multicultural families, and learning Korean individually for communication with families.
