This paper aims to suggest the method of developing Korean language textbook for early beginner, based on a critical analysis of the direction of developing Korean language textbook and of the curriculum of Korean language education in Korean 1, 2(2001) and Ryu Jae-taek(2004). The textbook for early beginner for overseas Koreans should be developed, reflecting the characteristics of the learner, 'children of overseas Koreans', however, the above textbooks and the report by Ryu do not properly reflect it. Therefore, as the method of developing Korean language textbook for overseas Koreans(early beginner), this paper suggests 1) to organize the contents of education centering around communicative activities with high possibility for children to face with, 2) to teach grammars as a way of enhancing communicative competence, 3) to teach natural and authentic Korean, 4) to pay special attention to teach orthography, 5) to teach children's interest contents and culture as a way of deriving active participation from children.
