다문화가정자녀를 위한 ‘학습 한국어’ 교재 개발의 방향

Toward Developing ‘Academic Korean’ Textbooks for Children of Multicultural Families

The purpose of this study is to propose a direction of developing ‘academic Korean’ textbooks for children of multicultural families. Since the children with multicultural background are to improve both communicative and academic competence for being a decent citizen in Korea, the society have to provide them with educational opportunity needed appropriately. On the basis of this belief, we have examined the direction of developing ‘academic Korean’ textbooks for the children. In order to do so, we have reviewed the researches related to this issue and conducted surveys of teachers and students’ needs. Then we have analysed two kinds of textbooks which are designed for teaching Korean children in and outside of Korea. The findings from this research tell us that we should care for all the children in our society and try to integrate them into the multiculturalizing Korea, and that the textbooks are to include such factors like cultural and ethnic diversity. This paper concludes with a call for more educational consideration for the children of multicultural families from various perspectives in order to better grow them.
