The meanings of Lexical items are mostly used as lexical meanings. But according to the aspect how to use them, they appear to be different from the lexical meanings. The object word in the metaphoric sentence can be used to be different from lexical meaning according to its relation to the subject of metaphor. The purpose of this study is to verify how a hearer reacts to the lexical items when they are used in different circumstances, and also to compare a hearer's reaction to the object words in metaphoric sentence with his reaction to them when they are presented as non-metaphoric words. The high graders (fourth to sixth graders) in elementary school react not with lexical meanings to the presented lexical items but mostly react with words or meanings in relation to the linguistic circumstance that they are used. And at the same time they mainly react with simple meanings or words, not with multiple words to the presented object words of metaphoric sentence. When they are instructed the presented lexical items by teachers, they show high rate in reaction to the instructed meaning. The high graders in elementary school mostly acquire the meaning of the lexical item from school and networks. When the subject of metaphor in metaphoric sentence appear as 'I,' or 'We', they react as if the subject of metaphor is the reactor himself.
