In learning and teaching language, it is important for learners to acquire knowledge of collocations and how to use them. This is regarded as a core language competence. In order to promote efficient teaching and learning of collocations, it is necessary to understand what collocations learners presently use and misuse. Utilizing Learner Corpus(L2) is a beneficial way to show some aspects of language acquired by the learner. A large amount of collocation material including their cooccurence condition can be collected from the learner corpus and can be compared to the collocations common to the Korean corpus(L1). The collocation can be compared to proficiency levels each other and it would show the difference between each level. This research would show that learners' collocation has more grammatical and morphological errors than lexical selection errors. Therefore this research aims to identify the special features of learners' usage of collocation and to help teachers in drawing a good teaching plans.
