중국조선족의 한국어교육의 현황과 발전방향

The Study on the Current Condition of Korean Education for Korean Minority

Since 1950's, with the establishment and improvement of the Korean Minority's educational system in China, the Korean teaching has startedto gain normal development. However, the establishment of the marketing economy has also great challenged the Korean teaching for the Korean Minority. The main challenges are as follows: 1. The reductionand float of the Korean Minority population have resulted in the merger and even breakdown of several schools special for the Korean Minority as well as the increase of the number of Korean Minority students who choose to drop out from schools. 2. Since their parents have to do business or work in other places, a large number of Korean Minority students have to move to those Chinese schools and lose the opportunity to learn Korean. 3. In the cities, because of the lack of excellent Korean teachers and the decline of the teaching quality, a lot of Korean Minority students choose to move to Chinese schools for study. 4. In those schools special for Korean Minority students, Chinese teaching is more and more emphasized and Korean teaching is greatly weakened. Actually speaking, the teaching language has gradually been changed from Korean to Chinese. There're several reasons why the Korean Minority have effectively carried out their Korean education in China by the end of 1980s. First of all, the Korean Minority has paid great attention to the education of their own language. Second, most of the Korean Minority are living in the habitat where there're good study environments. Third, there's a relatively complete national education system from elementary schools to colleges. The most fundamental reason for the challenge to the Korean teaching for Korean Minority is that the reduction of Korean Minority population as well as the increase of the floating population have brought in the disaggregation of habitat for Korean Minority. This is unavoidable during the whole process for Korean Minority of shifting from an agricultural society to a city society. We shouldn't be pessimistic, instead, we must direct actively so as to help the Korean education get rid of the crisis and pursue a brighter future.
