This study aims to discuss about establishing Meta-language and its teaching methods based on function and meaning. When it comes to grammar of Korean language education, it is appropriate to establish expression items as a main category of education. To present and explain the items properly, adequate grammatic expression, namely Meta-language, is necessary. Meta-language can be a method to enable to realize communication-oriented grammar education as a result of interacting with understanding of speaker situation, understanding of a sequence of situations, understanding of speech act functions, understanding of emotion and intention, and synthetic inference of situations. In this study, I tried to find the method to understand the relationship exactly among these situations, suggesting a model of grammar education using Meta-language. In addition, I focused on the necessity of presenting proper Meta-language to understand not only the situation of learners but also their emotion. In the meantime, I suggested a progressive method which is needed to investigate and regulate the Meta-language precisely.
