The goal of this research is to show the process of constructing learners’ corpus for Korean as a second language and to set up a system for ‘error markers’ which can describe the errors detected in the learner’s corpus. In addition, it was suggested that the project for constructing the corpus of learners’ errors should proceed step by step. The first phase should be to judge the appropriateness of the grammar or the vocabulary at a sentence level, and the second phase should cover the appropriateness of the sentence at a discourse level and to decide the scope to which the errors can make influence. The corpus of Korean learners is a vital tool for substantiating the learners’ interlanguage and the research on this will contribute to establishing better teaching methodologies or curriculum design by classifying aspects of learners’ errors.
