이중언어교육의 본질과 한국어교육의 과제

The Fundamentals of Bilingual Education and the Needs for International Korean Language Promotion

This paper aims to review the current issues and problems of Bilingual Education in general and extends the discussion about teaching Korean as a second or foreign language. Currently Korean cultural items, such as movie, TV drama, dance music, animation etc receives special attention from East Asian countries. Especially Korean TV dramas are very popular among Asian people and this kind of phenomenon is calles ‘Hallyu’ which means ‘Korean Wave’. Of course the word ‘hallyu(韓流)’ is used by Chinese, the term’ Hallyu’ is used as a ordinary word in Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore etc. In order to extend and promote and Korean language education as a second or foreign language in the world, Hallyu should be acitively used and appreciated with systematic approach and effective strategy.
