The purpose of this research consists in proposing a methology of description of Korean collocations in multilingual perspective. In the first part of this paper, some of the basic concepts of collocation are reviewed from the point of Korean language education. After examinng some of the collocation errors in foreign language learning, we introduce the necesity of describing collocations from multilingual perspective. We tried to describe the corresponding patterns of Korean collocations with languages such as Spanish, English, Russian, Italian, Frencha and German. We also suggest a sample of microsturucture of multilingual collocation database in which highly frequent Korean collocations are described with their corresponding foreign language interpretations. We also examined some of the contrastive features of Korean collocations and those of foreign languages and provided a method of represent these features in the microstructure of the multilingual collocation database that we have designed.
