The aim of this paper is to present how to teach Korean pronunciation to Finnish native speakers more effectively. Pronunciation must be emphasized from the beginning level to the advanced level, because it is formed at earlier level of the language learning course and the errors can be found even at a course of higher level. Lectures should be extended to free activity from the simple mechanical practice and teachers should introduce the sound structure of Korean step by step through explanation of acoustic way and place of each phonemes. This paper presents some characteristic properties of Korean consonant and vowel segments, suprasegments and phonological phenomena. So, it focuses on the differences found in Korean and Finnish and on the errors which Finnish speakers may experience to reduce Finnish interferences.
