기초학습 수행평가체제 어휘검사 타당화 연구

A Validation Study on Basic Academic Skills Assessment (BASA) : Vocabulary

연구목적: 어휘력은 읽기 이해를 예측하는 주요한 변인이며, 신뢰성 있는 어휘 검사도구를 통하여 아동의 어휘력을 정확히 평가하는 것은 효과적인 중재시행에 있어 필수적인 선행과제이다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 경기도 소재 초등학생 119명을 대상으로 수집된 데이터를 활용하여 기초학습 수행평가체제 어휘검사의 타당도를 확보하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 초등 교육과정에 기반을 둔 16개의 준거(‘반의어’, ‘동음이의어·다의어’, ‘유의어’, ‘단어의 뜻 찾기’, ‘의미장’, ‘순우리말·한자어·외래어’, ‘문맥 또는 문장에 적절한 단어 선정’, ‘꾸며주는 말’, ‘시간·장소를 나타내는 말’, ‘순서를 나타내는 말’, ‘접속사’, ‘비유이해’, ‘높임말·예사말’, ‘단어의 발음’, ‘단어의 짜임’, ‘의성어·의태어’)를 바탕으로 교과서 어휘를 분석 및 수록하여, 교육과정에 기반한 어휘검사 42문항을 개발하였다. 개발된 어휘검사는 초등학교 3학년 119명의 학생들에게 실시하여 검사의 신뢰도, 타당도, 그리고 문항모수를 검증하였다. 연구결과: 전체 신뢰도는 Cronbach’s alpha 값이 0.819로 높게 나타났으며, 구인타당도 분석 결과, 모형 적합도를 설명하는 각 지표 CFI, TLI, RMSEA가 0.840, 0.806, 0.067으로 나타나 적합한 모형으로 확인되었다. 결론: 끝으로, 본 연구결과를 토대로 시사점과 향후 연구제언을 기술하였다.

Purpose: Vocabulary is a powerful predictor of reading comprehension; The student’s vocabulary acquisition should be evaluated with a reliable measurement in order to provide effective interventions. Thus, this study aimed to explore the validity of Basic Academic Skills Assessment (BASA) : Vocabulary using data collected from 119 elementary school students who are enrolled in Gyeonggi area. Method: This study developed vocabulary measurement which consists of 16 sub-constructs (‘Antonym’, Homonym/Polysemy’, ‘Synonym’, ‘Definition’, ‘Semantic field’, ‘Pure Korean/Sino-Korean/Ioanword’, ‘Cloze’, ‘Descriptive’, ‘Time/Location’, ‘Ordinal’, ‘Conjunction’, ‘Metaphor’, ‘Honorific/Colloquial’, ‘Pronunciation’, ‘Organization’, ‘Onomatopoeia/Mimetic word’) based on elementary national curriculum in Korea. A total of 42 test items were developed by using vocabulary that were selected from Korean textbooks. The Basic Academic Skills Assessment (BASA) : Vocabulary was given to 119 third-graders to verify its reliability, validity, and item parameter. Results: The Cronbach's alpha for the overall test revealed to be high enough (=0.819). Confirmatory factor analysis also demonstrated satisfactory model fit (CFI=0.840; TLI=0.806; RMSEA=0.067). Conclusion: Based on the results, implications and suggestions for future studies were discussed.
