자연적 언어 중재가 발달지체 유아의 비언어적 의사소통 행동에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Naturalistic Language Intervention on the Nonverbal Communication Behaviors of Young Children with Language Delay

이 연구는 자연적 언어 중재가 발달지체 유아의 비언어적 의사소통 행동을 증진시키는지 알아보기 위해서 실시되었다. 이를 위해 연구자는 통합유치원 특수학급에 재학하고 있는 발달지체 유아 3명을 대상으로, 중재의 효과성을 알아보기 위해서 대상자 간 중다 기초선 설계를 활용하였고, 기초선, 중재, 유지 순으로 실험을 진행하였다. 비언어적 의사소통 행동 변화를 측정하기 위해서 자유 선택 활동 시간에 기초선, 중재, 유지 기간 동안의 유아 행동을 비디오로 녹화한 후 이를 분석하였다. 연구결과 자연적 언어 중재는 참여 유아의 비언어적 의사소통 행동을 증가시켰으며, 중재가 종료된 후에도 향상된 행동은 유지되었다. 이 연구는 자연적 언어 중재를 실시하여 발달지체 유아의 비언어적 의사소통 행동을 증가시켰다는데 의의가 있다.

The study was conducted in order to investigate the effect of naturalistic language intervention on young children’s nonverbal communication behaviors. A multiple baseline design was used for three young children with developmental delays enrolled in a special class of integrated kindergarten. Baseline, intervention, and maintenance phases were introduced subsequently. Nonverbal communication behaviors of participants were analyzed after recording their behaviors during free-choice activities. The results indicated that naturalistic language intervention increased non-verbal communication behaviors of 3 young children and maintained increased behaviors after one week later of intervention termination. The results also showed that naturalistic language intervention used in inclusive setting had a positive effect on non-verbal communication behaviors of young children with developmental delays.
