장애성인의 기능적 문해 능력 평가 도구 개발을 위한 기초 연구

Basic Study for Development of a Tool to Measure an Ability of Functional Literacy for Adults with disabilities

장애성인이 사회에서 독립적으로 기능하기 위해서 읽고 쓰는 능력을 활용할 수 있는 것을 기능적 문해 능력이라고 한다. 본 연구는 장애성인들의 기능적 문해 능력을 평가할 수 있는 도구를 개발하기 위해 문해에 참여할 때 사용되는 인지 과정에 따라 문해를 사실적 문해, 추론적 문해, 비판적 문해로 분류하고, 이 각각의 문해를 어떤 하위 요소들로 평가하는 것이 타당한지와 중요한지를 조사하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 장애성인의 문해 관련 특성들에 대한 전문적 지식을 갖고 있는 124명을 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하였다. 그 결과 31개 요소들에 대한 타당도와 중요도가 도출되었는데, 특히 응급전화번호, 대중교통 노선도, 교통표지판, 달력 등 일상생활에서 자연스럽게 경험하는 요소들에 대한 타당도와 중요도가 높게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 추후 장애성인의 기능적 문해 능력 평가 문항 개발에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

This study was to develop a tool to measure an ability of functional literacy for adults with disabilities. Prior to the development of the tool, first, the study investigated the validity and the importance of functional literacy for adults with disabilities. In order to measure an ability of functional literacy that we focus on reading skills only for adults with disabilities, the study classified an ability of functional literacy into three sub-domains, the documentary literacy, inferential literacy and critical literacy. And then, the study investigated factors in the sub-domain of functional literacy whether having validity for evaluation of functional literacy or not, and investigated these factors whether having importance in their daily life or not. This study was conducted with 124 specialists in special education area living in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province in Korea. The results of this study indicated that all factors had the validity and the importance to measure an ability of functional literacy for adults with disabilities.
