미술활동을 통한 성교육이 장애학생의성지식 및 성태도에 미치는 효과

Effects of Sexuality Program Using Art Activity on Sexual Attitude and Knowledge for the Middle School Student with Disabilities

본 연구의 목적은 미술활동을 통한 성교육이 특수학급 중등부 학생들의 성지식 및 성태도의 변화에 효과가 있는지를 알아보는 것이다. 또한 특수학급 중등부 학생의 성교육에 효과적인 프로그램을 제시하는 것에 의의를 두었다. 연구의 참여자는 경남 C시 중학교의 특수학급 학생 14명이었으며, 각각 실험집단과 통제집단으로 7명씩 배치하였다. 참여 학생들은 학습장애, 지적장애, 자폐성장애, 청각장애 그리고 주의력결핍과잉행동장애(ADHD)로 진단된 특수학급 학생이었다. 중재프로그램은 ‘미술활동을 통한 성교육 프로그램’으로 최종순(2010)연구에서 적용한 프로그램을 바탕으로 본 연구자가 특수학급학생들의 수준과 발달특성을 고려하여 이해하기 쉽고 흥미롭게 재구성하여 학생들 모두 적극적인 신체활동을 통해 자유롭게 성을 익힐 수 있는 성교육 프로그램이다. 측정도구는 성지식 및 성태도 질문지이며, 학생들에게는 성지식 및 성태도 질문지를 사전․사후에 실시하였다. 학생들의 질문지 결과에 대한 신뢰와 일상생활에서의 성태도 변화를 알아보기 위해 학부모에게 성태도 질문지를 사전․사후에 실시하였다. 자료처리는 동질성 여부를 검증하기 위하여 Mann-Whitney U test를 실시하였고, 실험집단과 통제집단 간의 차이를 검증하기 위해 Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Rank test를 적용하였다. 연구결과에서 미술활동을 통한 성교육 프로그램이 특수학급 장애학생들 성지식 및 성태도 향상에 전반적인 효과를 보였으며, 성지식에서는 신체․심리발달의 하위영역에서, 성태도에서는 2차 성징, 데이트, 성건강의 하위영역에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 미술활동을 통한 성교육 프로그램이 특수학급 중등부 학생들의 성교육 자료로 효과적이므로 현장에서 적용가능성을 제시하였다.

This study examined that sexuality education using art activities is effective on the sexual knowledge and attitude for the middle school students with disabilities. As for subjects, 14 middle school students with learning disability, mental retardation, autistic spectrum disorder, hearing impairment and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were selected. They were enrolled at special class of a middle school in C. City. 7 students were assigned to each of experimental group and control group. The research design was nonequivalent control group design. The sexuality education program using art activities was based on the Choi(2010), restructured to the level of special class students and their development characteristics. The measuring instrument is the questionnaires on sexual knowledge and attitude for the students and attitude for the parents. In order to verify the homogeneity, Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the data, and Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Rank test was applied to verify differences between the experimental group and control group. Sexual education program with art activities had a positive effect by generally improving sexual knowledge and attitude of disabled students in a special class, and as for sexual knowledge, significant differences were observed in sub-domains of physical and mental developments, and as for sexual attitude, significant differences were observed in sub-domains of second sexual characteristics, date and sexual health. Based on such findings, this study suggested the usage of sexual education programs with art activities as sexual education data for special class students in a secondary school.
