초등학생 장애형제를 둔 비장애형제의 경험에 대한 부모 인식

The Parents' Perception on the Experiences of Siblings with Elementary School Students with Disabilities

본 연구는 장애아동 부모의 시각에서 비장애형제의 장애형제에 대한 인식;장애형제의 비장애형제에 대한 영향;비장애형제의 적응을 돕기 위한 부모의 역할;그리고 비장애형제에 대한 부모의 기대를 이해하고자 목적으로 수행되었다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 D시의 장애아동 부모 자조모임에 소속되어 활동하고 있는 10명의 부모를 대상으로 초점집단면담을 실시하였으며;공통되는 의미를 중심으로 주제와 하위주제를 분석하였다. 연구 결과;부모들은 비장애형제가 장애형제를 대할 때 친절과 불친절한 태도가 공존하며;장애형제에게는 불친절하지만 다른 또래에게는 친절하다고 보고하였다. 또한 부모들은 형제가 공유하는 활동이 부족하며;장애형제로 인해 독립심;이해력;배려심;포용력 등이 향상되었지만;반대로 잘못된 질투나 시기;피해의식 등을 느끼고 있으며;주의산만;집중력 부족 등이 염려된다고 하였다. 부모들은 비장애형제의 긍정적인 발달을 위해 정서적 교감을 나누고 함께 놀거나 활동하는 시간을 갖는 등 다양한 노력을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 비장애형제가 부모들의 기대와 요구로 인해 스트레스를 받고 있으며;통합 교육환경에서도 장애형제로 인해 스트레스를 받고 있다고 인식하고 있었다. 이에 대해 부모들은 형제자매 지원프로그램과 비장애형제 상담 및 장애아 돌보미에 대한 지원이 확대되기를 기대하고 있었다.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the perception of the parents of the children with disabilities regarding the influences of the children with disabilities on their siblings without disabilities;the parents' effort for the adjustment of the siblings without disabilities;and the parents' expectations to the siblings. The study included 4 fathers and 6 mothers for the focused interview;and they were members of the association for the parents of children with disabilities in D city. The results of the study showed about the attitude of the siblings without disabilities to their siblings with disabilities;the social interactions between the siblings with and without disabilities;the stresses of the siblings without disabilities;the ways to help the siblings without disabilities to understand their sibling's disabilities;the relationship between parents and siblings without disabilities;the parents' expectation for the future of siblings without disabilities;and the parents' demands to support the siblings without disabilities;etc. In conclusion;the study suggested the ways to support the siblings without disabilities based on the results of the study.
