초등학교 4-6학년 학생들의 ADHD성향, 사회기술수준과 정서적 문제간의 관계분석

Analysis of relationships among ADHD characteristics, social skill level, and emotional problems of 4-6th elementary students

본 연구에서는 초등학교 4-6학년 학생들의 주의력결핍, 과잉행동성/충동성과 같은 ADHD성향과 사회기술수준이 대상학생의 정서적 문제와 어떤 관계를 가지고 있는지 조사하였다. 서울, 경기지역 7개 초등학교 4-6학년 학생 총 648명이 연구대상으로 선정되었다. 조사된 결과에 의하면 초등학생들의 주의력 결핍, 과잉행동성/충동성 성향은 대상학생들의 우울, 불안, 적대감, 신체이상화와 같은 정서적 문제 모두와 정적상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 학생개별특성 중 성별, 학년, 학업성취수준이 ADHD 성향과 상호작용하여 대상학생들의 정서적 문제에 유의미한 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 여학생이 남학생보다 ADHD영향으로 우울감에 더 쉽게 빠질 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, ADHD성향은 학년이 올라갈수록 공격성을, 학업성취수준이 높아질수록 우울을 발생시킬 가능성을 높일 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. ADHD성향과 사회기술수준, 정서적 문제와의 관계를 분석한 바에 따르면 사회기술수준은 대상학생들의 모든 정서적 문제영역들과 부적상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났는데 특히, 사회기술수준은 ADHD성향이 우울에 미치는 부정적 영향을 조절하는 역할을 할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This study examined the relationships among ADHD characteristics, social skill levels, and emotional problems of 4-6th elementary school students. The subjects of the study were 648 fourth to sixth grade students of seven schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi educational regions. Results indicated that the ADHD characteristics of the students had significant positive relationships with their emotional problems such as depression, anxiety, hostility, and physical troubles. ADHD characteristics and demographics of the students showed significant interaction effects on their emotional problems. In details, female students had more possibility to suffer from depression than male students. Also, as the grade or academic achievement level of the students increased, the influence of ADHD characteristics on their hostility or depression tended to increase respectively. In addition, social skill levels of the students had significant negative relationships with their emotional problems of all four areas. Especially, it was found that social skill level of the students could mediate the influences of their ADHD characteristics on depression.
