인공와우 수술에 대한 청각장애 성인의 인식 조사

The Study on Survey for Hearing Impaired Adults' Perception toward Cochlear Implant

본 연구는 청각장애 성인을 대상으로 인공와우 수술에 대한 전반적인 인식 수준은 어떠하며, 청각장애 성인의 개인 변인에 따라 인식 수준에 어떠한 차이가 있는가를 알아보고 농사회와 인공와우 관련 사회가 서로 화합하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 의의를 두었다. 본 연구의 목적은 청각장애 성인의 배경변인에 따라 인공와우 수술 정보, 인공와우 수술 자체, 인공와우 수술 효과, 인공와우 수술과 관련된 농정체성에 대한 인식 수준과 각 요인이 어떠한 관계를 가지는지 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 만 20세 이상 청각장애 성인 136명을 연구 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 청각장애 성인은 인공와우 수술 정보, 인공와우 수술 자체, 인공와우 수술 효과에 대한 인식, 인공와우 수술과 관련된 농정체성에 대한 인식이 모두 부정적으로 나타났다. 또한, 인공와우 수술에 대한 인식의 하위 요인 간에도 상관이 낮은 편으로 나타났다. 따라서 인공와우 수술에 대한 정보를 다양한 경로를 통해 제공하여 청각장애인이 인공와우에 대한 정확한 지식을 습득할 수 있도록 체계적인 지원 방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다. 또 이를 통해서 인공와우라는 장치가 자신의 정체성을 잃지 않고 건강한 사회 구성원의 역할을 할 수 있도록 하는 대안이 되어야 함을 시사하고 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the perception for hearing impaired adults toward cochlear implant. 136 hearing impaired adults in Gyeonggi-do, Seoul, Daegu, and Busan were participated for this study. The questionnaires with 26 questions were developed by researcher. The Cronbach's alpha of the total questions was .701. One-way ANOVA and Pearson corelation were utilized for this study. The results of this study were that: (a) hearing impaired adults were recognizing negatively toward cochlear implant information; (b) hearing impaired adults were recognizing negatively toward cochlear implant itself; (c) hearing impaired adults were recognizing negatively to the effect of cochlear implant; (d) hearing impaired adults were recognizing negatively to Deaf identity related with cochlear implant; and (e) the corelation among the four perceptions was high. Therefore this study concluded that cochlear implant device should be a cultural trend, but also play a role as a member of deaf and hearing society.
