장애통합교육보조원에 대한 특수교사의 인식

Perspectives on Paraprofessionals of Inclusion Education of Special Education Teachers

본 연구는 P시의 한국자활후견기관협회 지부 소속 장애통합교육보조원이 배치되어있는 소속되어 있는 각급 학교의 특수교사 126명을 대상으로 장애통합교육보조원에대한 인식을 살펴보았다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 본 연구에서 특수교사들은 현재 학교 현장에 근무 중인 장애통합교육보조원들에 대한 만족도가 대체적으로 높았으며 장애통합교육보조원들로 인해 학급의 업무와 수업진행을 보다 원활히 수행할 수 있다는 점에서 가장 큰 만족을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 특수교사는 장애통합교육보조원이 갖추어야 할 자질로 지식이나 기술보다는 풍부한 이해심과 봉사정신이 가장 중요한 것으로 인식하였으며 현장에서 학생의 신변처리, 식사 등을 비롯한 학생의 요구 사항 지원과 학생의 안정과 건강을 보호하는 역할을 주로 수행하는 것으로 인식하였다. 셋째, 장애통합교육보조원제도의 실태는 현장에서 보조원 선생님으로 불리고 있으며 주로 특수학급에 상주하는 것으로 나타났고, 교사와의 업무분담은 보통 수준이상이었고 행정직원과의 업무분담은 보통수준으로 이루어지고 있었으며 업무시간은 타교원과 동일하게 운영되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 특수교사들은 향후 장애통합교육보조원에 대한 수요가 증가할 것으로 예상하였다. 마지막으로 특수교사들은 장애통합교육보조원들이 소속되어 있는 자활기관에 대해 학교의 일정에 차질을 주거나 수업에 결손이 생기는 일이 없도록 센터의 일정을 계획하라는 등의 요구사항을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This study is to examine perspectives of special education teachers who are 126, and collaborative with paraprofessionals in their classroom in P city. The results are as follows: First, Special education teachers were highy satisfied with paraprofessionals' performance. Especially, they were pleased with in that instruction and classroom management were following smoothly owing to paraprofessionals. Second, they put their finger on qualification of paraprofessionals, for instance, deep consideration and dedication rather than knowledge and skills. Also, they has perceived that it need to be support and active role of daily guidance as paraprofessionals' qualification. Third, paraprofessionals were called as “para-teacher” and they usually worked in special education classroom. Also, Their load of working was above average level compare with special education teachers, were average divided with working responsibility compared with general officers. And working hours of paraprofessional were the same as special education teachers. Lastly, Teachers of special education anticipate being great remand of paraprofessionals in the future.
