수정된 SQ3R 독해전략 훈련이 읽기장애 아동의 독해력 및 읽기인식력에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Modified SQ3R Training on the Reading Comprehension and Awareness of Children with Reading Disabilities

본 연구의 목적은 읽기장애를 지닌 아동에게 수정된 SQ3R 독해전략 훈련을 실시하여 아동의 독해력과 읽기 인식력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 것이었다. 이러한 연구 목적을 위하여 초등학교 5학년에 재학 중이며, 독해 능력이 지체된 읽기장애 아동 3명을 선정하였다. 실험설계는 수정된 SQ3R 독해전략 훈련에 따른 독해력 수준 변화를 알아보기 위하여 아동 간 중다기초선설계를 사용하였으며, 읽기 인식 수준 변화를 알아보기 위하여 사전 검사와 사후 검사 결과를 비교하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 수정된 SQ3R 독해전략 훈련에 참여한 읽기장애를 보이는 세 아동은 독해력이 향상되었다. 프로그램을 적용하자 세 아동 모두 독해력에서 뚜렷한 향상을 보였으며, 중재 종료 이후 추수 측정에서도 그 효과가 지속됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 수정된 SQ3R 독해전략 훈련은 세 아동의 읽기 인식 수준도 향상시켰다. 이는 수정된 SQ3R 독해전략 훈련이 아동들의 독해력과 함께 읽기에 대한 상위인지 능력인 읽기 인식 수준을 향상시킨 것으로 보인다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact on the reading comprehension and reading awareness of children with reading disabilities when modified SQ3R reading comprehension strategies training was applied to them. For this purpose, three fifth graders with reading disabilities were chosen. These children participated in the intervention twice a week for 5 weeks. A multiple baseline design across participants were used to investigate the reading comprehension skills of children and a pre- and post-test design was used to measure reading awareness skills of them. The results showed that the modified SQ3R reading comprehension strategies training was effective in the improvement of reading comprehension and reading awareness skills of children with reading disabilities.
