The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of Task-Based Language Teaching(TBLT) in Korean language education and suggest further research directions. To this end, we conducted a comprehensive search across databases such as RISS, KISS, DBpia, and the National Assembly Library, resulting in the selection of 108 references up until May 2023. In order to discern the research trends, we conducted a quantitative analysis of the selected studies based on their research period, subjects, methods, and field trends. Additionally, we deployed qualitative research methods to understand the trends in research content. Finally, we outlined the future directions for TBLT research. Specifically, we underscored the necessity of a clear definition for the task concept. We also highlighted the need for research to encompass a broader range of learners, and for further investigation into task development, the verification of task effectiveness, and the development of an improved task-centered teaching model.
