자전거 에르고미터 운동이 뇌성마비학생들의 심폐지구력 및 자아개념에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 자전거 에르고미터 운동이 뇌성마비학생들의 심폐지구력 및 자아개념에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 규명하는 것이었다. 14-22세의 뇌성마비 남학생 9명을 대상으로 12주간 주당 3회의 자전거에르고미터 운동을 실시하였다. 훈련 전후의 심폐지구력 및 자아개념의 변화를 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 심폐지구력은 최고산소섭취량, 체중당 최고산소섭취량, 최고심박수, 최고환기량 등으로 나누어 훈련전 후의 변화를 분석하였다. 최고산소섭취량(p=.002), 체중당 최고산소섭취량(p=.002), 최고심박수(p=.002), 최고환기량(p=.002)은 훈련전보다 훈련 12주후에 유의하게 증가하였다. 둘째, 자아개념을 신체적자아, 성격적자아, 도덕적자아, 가정적자아, 사회적자아, 자아동일성, 자아만족, 자아행동, 자아평가, 총자아 등의 하위개념에 대하여 훈련전후의 변화를 분석하였다. 뇌성마비학생들이 훈련 전보다 훈련 12주 후에 도덕적자아(p=.049), 자아평가(p=.012), 자아만족(p=.031)이 유의하게 증가하였다. 이상의 결과를 볼 때 자전거에르고미터운동은 뇌성마비학생들의 심폐지구력 및 자아개념을 증가시키는 데 있어서 긍정적 효과를 가지는 것을 제안한다.

The Effects of Bicycle Ergometer Exercise Training on Cardiorespiratory Endurance and Self Concept in Students With Cerebral PalsyKang, Soon-hee The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of bicycle ergometer exercise training on cardiorespiratory endurance and self concept in students with cerebral palsy. The subjects consisted of 9 male students with cerebral palsy between the ages of 14 to 22. The subjects performed bicycle ergometer exercise with three times a week for 12 weeks. Exercise intensity was increased gradually from the work load of 50% O2peak during the training period. Exercise time was increased gradually from 32 minutes to 44 minutes during the training period. The variables of cardiorespiratory endurance and self concept were examined at pre-training and post-12 week training with the same measurement manner for each variable. The results of this study were as follows: First, the cardiorespiratory endurance was divided into variables of O2peak, O2peak/㎏, HRpeak, Epeak and the changes of these variables between pre-training and post-training were analyzed. After training, O2peak, O2peak/㎏, HRpeak, Epeak significantly increased. Second, after training, significant improvements in self concept were noted on the Self-Criticism, Moral-Ethical Self and Self-Satisfaction subscales. These results suggest that bicycle ergometer exercise training are associated with positive changes in cardiorespiratory endurance and self concept in students with cerebral palsy. It can be concluded that aerobic exercise program with bicycle ergometer should be included in the physical therapy intervention to promote physical fitness and self concept in students with cerebral palsy.
