예비유아특수교육교사의 전문성 향상을 위한 수행 중심의 포트폴리오의 개발과 적용

Developing Performance-Based Professional Teaching Portfolio for Pre-Service Early Childhood Special Education Teachers

본 연구의 목적은 유아특수교육을 담당하는 교사들에 대해서도 교사가 주체적으로 자신의 전문지식과 교수방법에 대한 평가를 수행할 수 있는 방안으로서 포트폴리오의 개발과 적용방법을 모색하는 것이다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서 논의하는 수행중심의 포트폴리오는 우리가 교육현장에서 아동들에게 부분적으로 적용하기 시작한 포트폴리오 평가방식을 유아특수교사양성교육과정에 적용하여 예비교사들이 스스로 자신들이 교사로서의 갖추어야 할 지식과 기술 및 실질적인 실습경험 등을 기록하고 분석하는 과정을 통해 교사로서의 전문성을 향상시키는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 도구이다.

Teaching and Learning are two sides of the same coin. However, the importance of teacher assessment of their teaching has not been emphasized as much as that of assessment of children about their learning. Many teacher education programs in the U.S. are using teaching portfolios as part of pre-service students' assessment and graduation requirements. And many schools are also using professional teaching portfolios for teacher recruitment and promotion purposes as well. The purpose of this article is to examine various ways to develop performance-based professional teaching portfolios for pre-service early childhood special education teachers. Through the development of professional teaching portfolios, prospective and practicing teachers will be able to document their knowledge and reflections as educators.
