청각장애학생의 문해 능력과 가정 학습 활동에 대한 사례 연구

A Qualitative Case Study on Deaf Students' Literacy and Home Learning Activities

본 연구는 문해 능력이 우수한 청각장애학생의 가정에서의 여가 활동과 가족의 학습 활동에 대한 지원 상황을 밝혀 청각장애학생의 효율적인 문해 능력 지도 방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 이 연구의 결과와 논의를 통해 얻어진 결론은 첫째, 문해 능력이 우수한 청각장애학생의 방과 후 가정에서의 학습 활동과 그에 관련한 여가 활동 상황에서 연구 참여 학생 모두 독서에 대한 필요성을 강하게 느끼고 있었으며, 컴퓨터에 대한 관심이 많아 채팅을 통해 정보 교환을 하는 과정에서 읽기나 어휘력이 크게 향상되었다. 둘째, 문해 능력이 우수한 청각장애학생의 학습 활동에 영향을 미치는 가족 지원 활동 상황에서 어릴 때부터 지금까지 꾸준히 해 온 학습지가 많은 도움이 되었으며, 가정 문고의 활용에서는 연구 참여자 가정 모두 항상 책을 접할 수 있도록 아이들이 읽어야 할 책들을 구비해서 아이들과 함께 책을 읽고 이야기 하는데 많은 시간을 할애하였다. 따라서 가족 구성원의 적극적인 지원 활동으로 현재 또래 아이들보다 높은 문해 능력을 갖출 수 있었다.

This study is to present efficient ways of literacy guidance by figuring out condition of home leisure activity and support of family for study for deaf students with superior literacy. Two deaf students with superior literacy from the researcher's workplace were selected as the objective of the study. To find efficient way of literacy guidance, their home activity was examined through diversified observation and interview. The results of the study and debate are as follow: First, related to the students' home activity and related leisure activity after school; Both students strongly felt the need of reading and were highly interested in computer. Their vocabulary and reading ability were greatly improved through exchange of information during chatting. Keeping a diary constantly seems to have helped the students improve writing ability. Second, related to the support of family for the deaf students with superior literacy; From the side of private education, workbooks they studied from the childhood have been quite helpful. Both of the families possessed books for children so the children have easy access to books and spent long time to read books and talk about it with the children. They also did not hesitate to spent time with their children to check the children's homework piece by piece together. The participants of this study grew up with their parents love and attention. The support of family members led them to have better literacy than that of the same age.
