본고는 최고의 작명법을 도출하기 위해서 비판적 시각으로 문제점과 개선방향 중심으로 자의성명학과 자원오행성명학, 81수리성명학, 수리오행성명학, 발음오행성명학, 명리성명학, 한글십성성명학을 살폈다. 성명학의 문제점은 첫째 개운을 강조하지만 우리는 성명으로 개운할 수 있는지도 모른다. 성명이 우리에게 영향을 미치는 것은 인정하나 적극적 개운론만 주장하면 비판과 점술에서 벗어날 수 없기에 운명론을 재고해야 한다. 둘째 각 성명학은 개운의 근원이 다르다. 수리나 주파수는 비판이 심하나 반증이 없고, 자기 옹호와 상대방 폄하만 존재할 뿐 근원 관련 연구가 거의 없어서 추가 연구가 절실하다. 셋째 길흉 분석도 문제이다. 81영동수는 수용하기 곤란하고, 오행성명학은 문제점과 이견을 잠재울 검증이 필요하다. 넷째각 성명학은 유형마다 도출된 문제점도 상당하므로 이 역시 해결해야 한다. 결국 어떤 성명학도 문제점과 비판에서 자유롭지 않기에 최고가 아니다. 살펴본 성명학뿐만 아니라 그 이외도 검증하고 개선한다면 최고의 작명법이될 수 있으므로 우리는 적극적인 자세로 성명학의 체계를 정립해야 한다.
To draw the best naming method, this thesis examined jaui-nameology, jawon-ohaeng-nameology, 81-suli-nameology, suli-ohaeng-nameology, pronunciation-ohaeng-nameology, myeongli-nameology and hangeul-sibseong-nameology by focusing on problems and improvement directions from a critical point of view. The problems of major nameologies are as following: First, it emphasizes gaeun, but we cannot know whether it is possible to have gaeun. The influence of name on human beings is acknowledged but we cannot escape criticism and fortune-telling if we only insist on positive gaeunlon, so theories of destiny should be reconsidered. Second, each nameology has different foundation of gaeun. As for suli or jupasu, there are criticisms but no counterevidence, and only self-acknowledge and disparagement for others, so it is required the study on foundation of gaeun which has little previous studies. Third, the analysis of good or bad names is also problematic. 81yeongdongsu is difficult to accept and ohaeng-nameology needs verification to settle the problems and different opinions. Fourth, since each nameology has many problems deduced from each type, these should be solved, too. In conclusion, it is difficult to say which nameologiy is best because every nameology has its own problems and criticisms. If we verify and improve not only the examined seven nameologies , but also others, it can become the best naming method, so we must establish a system of nameology, with an active attitude.
