A Study on Education Methods of Arabic literature Translation using Korean-Arabic Picture Book Translation

This study aims to study education methods of Arabic literature translation using picture book translation. For this purpose, data on Korean picture books translated into Arabic by learners who majored in Arabic at a domestic university were collected and analyzed. This study first reviews related papers and then analyzes the translation results from the ‘2nd Korean-Arab Picture Book Translation Contest.’ The role of domestic translators is necessary for the translation of domestic literary works into foreign languages, and for this purpose, translation education is necessary at domestic universities. In order to translate domestic literary works into foreign languages, domestic translators need to play a role, and for this purpose, translation education is necessary in domestic universities. For this purpose, the method of teaching literary translation through collaborative translation activities is a good example. In addition, considering that literary translation is a field of creative writing that is different from technical translation, it will be possible to realize literary translation education in universities through a combination of practical and theoretical classes.
