ChatGPT 등 인공지능 모델 출현에 따른 원가관리회계 교육에서의 조화 가능성 탐색

Cost Accounting Education with ChatGPT and Its Implications

[연구목적] 본 연구는 ChatGPT 등 생성형 인공지능 언어모델의 출현에 따라 해당 생성형 인공지능 모델의 원가관리회계와 관련된 문제해결 능력을 평가하고, 이를 바탕으로 원가관리회계 교육에 활용 가능성 및 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. [연구방법] 원가관리회계 관련 주요 개념설명과 계산문제를 활용하여 인공지능 언어모델인ChatGPT, Bing, Bard 등의 답변을 살펴보았다. 또한, 원하는 답변을 얻기 위하여 질문(프롬프트)을 변경하는 과정을 통해 인공지능 모델의 활용 가능성을 탐색하였다. [연구결과] 인공지능 언어모델은 원가관리회계의 개념 설명이나 균형성과표(BSC) 설계 등의과제를 오류 없이 올바르게 수행하는 것으로 나타났다. 단순한 간접비 배부 등의 과제도 적절하게 수행하였으나, 단계배부법 등을 적용하여 원가 계산을 실행하는 과제에서는 오류가 있는답안을 제시하였다. 질문을 자세히 서술할 경우(프롬프트 엔지니어링)에는 완성품환산량에 기반한 원가계산 등 복잡한 문제의 해결도 가능한 것으로 나타났다. [연구의 시사점] 본 연구는 범용목적으로 개발된 ChatGPT를 활용하여 원가관리회계와 관련된 문제해결 사례를 소개하였다. 원가관리회계 교육에 ChatGPT를 접목할 경우에 인공지능 모델이 제시한 최초 답변에 대한 평가 및 개선, 질문 변형을 통한 올바른 답변 유도 등 새로운학습활동을 추가적으로 수행할 수 있을 것이다. 이 과정에서 원가관리회계와 관련된 개념 이해와 내용검증의 능력이 필요하게 되고, 이를 습득하는 과정에서 심화 학습을 유도할 수 있을것이다. 따라서 기본 개념에 대한 이해와 응용능력을 배양하는 것은 계속 핵심 학습목표로 유지될 것이다. 이와 함께 실무에서 생성형 인공지능 모델을 원가관리회계에 활용하는 사례가축적될수록 이를 반영하는 교육활동이 도입될 것으로 전망한다.

[Purpose] This study aims at providing suggestions and implications on cost accounting education under the circumstances of generative artificial intelligence language models such as ChatGPT, Bing, and Bard. [Methodology] First, this study evaluates how well the model can provide solutions for the cost accounting exam questions. Second, this paper modifies prompts in order to get the desired answers from the AI model. [Findings] The artificial intelligence model can solve the questions such as explaining the main concepts of cost accounting and developing managerial accounting schemes like BSC. The models also provide the correct answers for simple questions on calculating cost with a simple process. However, there are limits on multi-level cost allocation problems. [Implications] This paper introduces examples that ChatGPT can provide answers to cost accounting questions. Based on the initial draft that ChatGPT generated, students can validate or revise their initial draft. In addition, prompt engineering activities can be introduced with cost accounting topics as illustrated in this study.
