자연주의 영화는 충동 이미지를 담고 있다. 충동 이미 지는 원초적 세계 인간들의 기초적인 충동들에서 나온 다. 충동 이미지가 행동 이미지와 감화 이미지의 속성을 모두 지녀서, 자연주의는 원초적 세계/ 파생된 밀리우, 충동/ 행동양식의 4개의 좌표에 걸쳐져 있다. 들뢰즈는 영화에서 자연주의 감독으로 에리히 본 슈트로 하임, 루이스 브뉴엘, 조셉 로지를 들고 있다. 로지의 자연주의는 폭력, 포식자와 피식자, 노예근성, 페티쉬, 자기자신에 대한 역전, 구원, 원래적 세계와 파생된 밀리우를 동시에 담아내는 랜드스케이프 등의 특징을 보인다.

Losey’s naturalism is characterized by violence, pr edators and prey, Servility, fetish, reversal against the sel f, salvation, and a landscape that simultaneously captures the original world and the derived world.
