An Exploratory Study on the Validation of 5-Factor Personality (K-OCEAN) Scale of Korean College Students

연구목적: 본 연구에서는 성격 5요인을 기반으로 하는 OCEAN 검사 타당화 작업을 위하여 국내대학교에 재학 중인 876명의 학생들을 대상으로 타당성을 검증하였다. 연구방법: 신뢰도 분석및 확인적 요인분석을 실시하여 OCEAN 대학생 검사의 구인타당도를 제시하였으며, 대학생 핵심역량 검사와의 준거타당도를 확인하였다. 연구결과: 내적 합치도, 구인타당도, 준거 타당도 면에서 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 첫째, 내적 합치도는 상위 5요인 수준에서 .79-.94의 범위로 제시되었다. 둘째, 적합도 지수에서는 절대 적합지수에서 보통수준의 적합도를 나타냈다. 셋째, 대학생 핵심 역량 검사와 OCEAN 요인들 간의 준거 타당도를 확인한 결과, 안정욕구를 제외하고 대학생 핵심역량과 정적상관을 확인하였다. 논의 및 결론: OCEAN 대학생 검사 타당화 작업을 통해 추후 효과적인 대학생활 적응 및 진로 상담 장면에서 본 검사가 활용되기 위한 시사점이 도출되었다.

Purpose: This study aimed to validate the K-OCEAN personality assessment scale. It focused on evaluating the reliability and validity of the scale in measuring the Big Five personality traits. Method: The researchers conducted reliability and validity analyses, including confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis with a college student core competency assessment. The data for the K-OCEAN study was collected from university students across 12 schools in five regions of Korea. Results: The results showed that the K-OCEAN had stable internal reliability, suitable construct validity, and criterion validity. The correlation analysis confirmed the validity of the K-OCEAN, supporting the concept of OCEAN personality factors and previous studies. Conclusion: The findings have implications for effective college life adaptation and career counseling. In summary, this study provides evidence for K-OCEAN in assessing personality traits in college students.
