본고는 중국 대학교에서 사용하고 있는 초급 한국어 교재에 제시되어 있는 훈민정음 교육 내용을 분석하여 그 개선점을 찾는 데에 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 중국 국내에서 개발한 통합 교재 중 훈민정음 관련 내용이 제시되어 있는 초급 교재를 선정하여, 각 교재에서 훈민정음의 명칭과 뜻, 창제자 및 창제 시기, 창제 배경 및 목적, 제자 원리, 자모 명칭, 표기 방법, 훈민정음 관련 정보, 사진이나 그림 자료 등 8개의 내용 범주를 어떻게 다루고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 중국 대학에서 개발된 11종의 교재 중 5종의 교재에만 훈민정음 관련 교육 내용이 제시되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 훈민정음의 창제 배경, 제자 원리 및 표기 방법에 중점을 두어 훈민정음 관련 교육 내용을 구성하고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. ①,⑤번 내용 범주 및 학습자의 흥미를 돋우고 이해를 돕기 위한 내용으로서의 훈민정음 관련 정보나 사진 등에 대한 활용은 소홀히 하는 양상도 볼 수 있었다. 한편, 교재마다 훈민정음 관련 교육 내용을 제시하는 방식이 다양하고 분량도 제각각이나, 내용 측면에서 사실을 오해할 수 있거나 혼란을 일으킬 수 있는 정보도 적지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 설명이 명확하지 못하고 애매모호하거나 너무 간략하다는 문제점과 장편의 글이 어려운 용어로 제시되어 있어 너무 복잡하다는 문제점도 발견할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 분석 결과를 바탕으로 중국 대학에서 사용하고 있는 초급 한국어 교재에 나타난 훈민정음 관련 교육 내용을 개선하기 위해 6가지 개선점을 제안하였다. 본고의 연구 결과는 중국어권 한국어 초급 교재의 개편과 개발에 도움을 줄 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
This study aims to analyze the educational content pertaining to Hunminjeongeum presented in beginner-level Korean textbooks used in universities in China, with a goal of identifying areas for improvement. To this end, integrated textbooks developed within China that contain content related to Hunminjeongeum were selected. Each textbook was reviewed to see how it deals with eight content categories: the name and meaning of Hunminjeongeum, its creator and time of creation, background and objectives of its creation, letter-making principles, names of the characters, notation methods, related information, and visual aids such as photographs or illustrations. The findings revealed that out of 11 types of textbooks developed for universities in China, only 5 contained educational content related to Hunminjeongeum. Moreover, the emphasis is mainly on the background of Hunminjeongeum's creation, its letter-making principles, and notation methods. The utilization of content such as related information or photographs that could spark students' interest and aid understanding was found to be somewhat neglected. While the way and amount of content presentation varied across textbooks, there were instances where the information could lead to misunderstandings or confusion. Additionally, some descriptions were found to be unclear, ambiguous, or overly simplified, and lengthy explanations were presented using complex terms. Based on these analytical outcomes, six recommendations were proposed to improve the educational content related to Hunminjeongeum in beginner-level Korean textbooks used in universities in China. The findings of this study hold significance as they can assist in the revision and development of beginner-level Korean textbooks for Chinese speakers.
