(Purpose) In this study, we aimed to propose strategies for cultivating interdisciplinary talents based on the humanities and social sciences, and conducted literature analysis and case studies for this purpose. (Design/methodology/approach) In this study, we attempted to propose methods and strategies for nurturing convergence talents based on the humanities and social sciences, and for this purpose, literature analysis and case analysis were conducted. The results of this study can serve as a basic strategy for nurturing convergence talent in the future. (Findings) The first area focuses on policy formulation for fostering interdisciplinary talents, suggesting educational innovation approaches through interdisciplinarity, as well as tailored policy implementation strategies based on the types and domains of interdisciplinary talents. The second area emphasizes curriculum innovation, including the development and collaborative operation of global issue-based educational programs, competency-based curriculum design at various levels, and the development and operation of competency-centered interdisciplinary extracurricular programs. The third area advocates reforming teaching methods, proposing strategies for the dissemination of problem-solving and student-participatory interdisciplinary education approaches, as well as the development of project-based teaching models for enhancing interdisciplinary competencies. The fourth area underscores collaboration and networking, suggesting strategies for establishing networks among institutions conducting interdisciplinary education, and enhancing collaboration and exchange among interdisciplinary researchers and educators. The fifth area emphasizes infrastructure sharing for talent development, including the construction and operation of platforms for interdisciplinary talent education and the sharing of resources for cultivating interdisciplinary talents. (Research implications or Originality) The research results led to the proposal of 11 major strategies within 5 key areas for cultivating interdisciplinary talents.
