Effect of Webtoon Major's Core Competencies on the Use of Generative AI

본 연구는 대학에서 웹툰 전공의 학생들의 생성형AI에 대한 인식과 전공핵심역량이 생성형AI 활용에 미치는 영향력을 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 187명의 웹툰 관련 학과의 학생들에 대해 설문조사를 진행하였다. 연구결과 생성형AI가 무엇인지 인지하고 있는 학생은 105명으로 55.6%를 차지하는 것으로 나타났고, 추후 활용여부를 물었을 때 높은 비율로 부정적인 견해를 보였다. 전공핵심역량이 생성형AI활용에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았을 때 의사소통은 생성형AI활용에 유의미한 영향력이 없는 것으로 나타났고, 협업은 생성형AI활용에 유의미한 영향력이 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 자기개발과 문제해결은 생성형AI활용에 유의미한 영향력이 있는 것을 알 수 있으며, 유연성은 생성형 AI활용에 유의미한 영향력이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 규명된 연구결과를 바탕으로 웹툰 관련 학과에서 생성형AI를 활용한 전공개설 시 예비 창작자인 학생들을 배려하기 위한 시사점을 대안으로 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of the students majoring in webtoon on the use of generative AI and the core competencies of their majors. To this end, a survey was conducted on 187 students in webtoon-related departments. As a result of the study, 105 students were aware of what generative AI was, accounting for 55.6%, and when asked about its use in the future, it showed a high percentage of negative views. When looking at the effect of major core competencies on the use of generative AI, communication was found to have no significant influence on the use of generative AI, and collaboration was found to have a significant influence on the use of generative AI. It can be seen that self-development and problem-solving have a significant influence on the use of generative AI, and flexibility has no significant influence on the use of generative AI. Based on the identified research results, this study suggested as an alternative to consider students who are prospective creators when opening majors using generative AI in webtoon-related departments.
