As water-related activities, such as appreciating the sea and enjoying the water from above and below, are greatly helpful when people need to refresh their lives, the demand for maritime tourism is increasing. The increase in per capita income and leisure time are also responsible for the increase in the frequency of visits to maritime tourism destinations. In particular, due to the nature of Korea as a peninsula surrounded by sea on three sides, each maritime destination has different attractions as well as advantages and disadvantages. The Gyeonggi Sea refers to the West Sea of Korea, in front of Gyeonggi-do. The entire area is small compared to other Korean seas. However, it is the closest sea to Seoul and the metropolitan area, where Korea's largest population and economic power are located, and residents can visit there conveniently. Gyeonggi Sea does not have excellent environmental conditions compared to other areas of Korea, but as it is located near the metropolitan area, the frequency of visits is high, and the number of visits is increasing. Such an increase in demand can be further activated by the diversification of the ocean tourism content of the Gyeonggi Sea with increasing competitiveness.
