Difficulties and Support Measures for Raising Children as Perceived by Korean Parents

This study sought to find out about the difficulties that Koryoin parents feel while raising their children in Korea and the support they need. The study participants were four Korean parents of young children living in Gwangju, and in-depth interviews were conducted with them to find out about the difficulties they experience in raising their children and the social support they receive. Research results: First, parents in Koryo village would like to describe the difficulties they experienced while raising their children in Korea. While raising children in Korea, they seem to have experienced difficulties with the children and parents' Korean language skills, economic factors, and using early childhood education institutions and related activities. Second, the social support that Koryoin village parents want while raising their children in Korea includes language learning and interpretation services, activities with Korean people, and support to overcome cultural differences.
