악기를 활용한 유아음악활동에 관한 탐구

A Study on Young Children’s Music Activities Using Musical Instruments: From the Perspective of Deleuze's Concepts of Encounter and Becoming

본 연구는 들뢰즈 철학의 관점에서 유아들의 음악 경험을 살펴보고, 유아와 악기의 마주침에서 생성되는 사건과 의미를 이해하려는 목적을 지닌다. 이를 위해 어린이집 3-5세 혼합반 유아를 대상으로 약 4개월에 걸쳐 음악 특별활동에 대한 참여관찰을 진행하고, 생성된 질적 자료를 토대로 들뢰즈의 철학적 개념을 사용하여 후기 질적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 유아들은 악기를 활용한 음악활동에서 다양한 감각적 마주침을 통해 새로운 의미를 생성하였고, 창조적인 실험과 표현으로 자신만의 음악 스타일을 창안하였다. 또한 유아들의 악기활동은 주체적으로 음악을 실천하며 새롭게 되어가는 생성의 의미로서 해석되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 유아들의 음악활동을 정형화된 교수접근에서 벗어나 물질 및 관계와의 마주침에 주목하여 열린 시선으로 바라보고, 철학적 사유를 통해 악기가 창출해내는 새로운 의미를 탐색해보기를 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the musical experience of young children from the perspective of Deleuze's philosophy and to understand the events and meanings generated from the encounters between young children and musical instruments. To this end, 10 children aged 3-5 in a mixed class of a daycare center were observed participating in special music activities for about 4 months, and as a kind of post-qualitative research method, Deleuze's philosophical concepts were used for analyzing the data generated. As a result of the study, young children created new meanings through various sensory encounters in music activities using musical instruments, and invented their own musical styles through creative experiments and expressions. In addition, the children's musical instrument activities were interpreted as the meaning of new creation through agential practices of musical ‘becoming.’ Based on these results, it was suggested that looking at young children's musical activities with an open eye by focusing on their encounters with materials and relationships, and moving from the standardized teaching approaches to new meanings created by musical instruments through philosophical thinking.
