지역사회 거주 정신장애인의 스트레스가 회복에 미치는 영향

Effects of Stress on Recovery of Mentally Disabled People Living in Local Communities: Focusing on the mediating effect of self-determination and social support

본 연구의 목적은 스트레스 과정모델 및 선행연구를 기반으로 지역사회 거주 정신장애인 회복과정에서 지각한 스트레스가 회복에 미치는 영향에 대해 자기결정과 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 통해 지역사회 거주 정신장애인이 경험하는 스트레스가 회복과정에 미치는 부정적 영향을 완충해주는 대처요인과 그 영향력을 확인하여, 궁극적으로는 회복수준 향상을 위한 효과적인 개입방안 모색하고자 하였다. 이에 지역사회 정신건강서비스를 받고있는 성인 정신장애인 242명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 지역사회 거주 정신장애인이 경험하는 스트레스는 회복에 부적 영향을 미치며, 내적 자원인 자기결정과 외적 자원인 사회적 지지는 정신장애인이 경험하는 스트레스를 완충하고, 결과적으로 회복수준 향상에 기여하는 대처자원으로서 기능하는 것으로 나타났다. 주요결과를 근거로 지역사회 거주 정신장애인의 회복수준을 향상하기 위한 실천적, 정책적 방안을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of self-determination and social support on the effect of stress perceived in the recovery process of mentally disabled people living in the community on recovery based on the stress process model and previous studies. Through this, we tried to identify the coping factors that mitigate the negative impact of stress experienced by mentally disabled people living in the community on the recovery process and ultimately seek effective intervention measures to improve the level of recovery. Accordingly, a survey was conducted on 242 adult mentally disabled people receiving mental health services in the community. The results of the survey are summarized as follows. The stress experienced by the mentally disabled living in the community negatively affects recovery, and it was found that self-determination, an internal resource, and social support, an external resource, function as a coping resource that buffers the stress experienced by the mentally disabled and consequently contributes to improving the level of recovery. Based on the main results, practical and policy measures to improve the level of recovery of the mentally disabled living in the community were discussed.
