목적: 한국어 고급 학습자가 인지적 과제 복잡성 정도에 차이를 둔 협동적 대본 작성하기 과제를 수행하는 동안 산출한 PREs를 양적·질적으로 분석하여 과제 복잡성에 따른 학습자의 상호작용을 살펴보고자 한다. 방법: 한국어 고급 학습자 34명을 단순 과제 집단(8팀)과 복잡 과제 집단(9팀)으로 분류하여 ‘+/-인과관계 추론’ 변수가 적용된 협동적 대본 작성하기 과제를 수행하도록 하였다. 과제 수행 중 일어나는 상호작용의 양을 분석하기 위해 PREs의 수와 각 PRE 내 말차례 수를 측정하였으며, 상호작용의 질을 분석하기 위해 ‘적절하게 해결한 PREs’의 수를 ‘화용언어적 항목’과 ‘사회화용적 항목’으로 분류하여 측정하였다. 결과: 첫째, 단순한 과제에서보다 복잡한 과제에서 상호작용의 양이 부분적으로 더 많았다. 둘째, 과제1에서는 ‘사회적 거리’, 과제2에서는 ‘보조화행’, ‘사회적 거리’, ‘상황’에 대한 상호작용이 복잡한 과제에서 더 많이 나타났다. 결론: 과제 복잡성이 학습자의 사회적 맥락에서의 언어 사용에 대한 상호작용에 영향을 미친다는 결과를 통해, 과제 복잡성과 상호작용에 대한 관련 연구의 범위를 확장시킬 수 있을 것이다.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate learners’ interactions according to task complexity by quantitatively and qualitatively analysing the PREs produced by learners while performing a collaborative writing task with different levels of cognitive task complexity. Methods: Thirty-four advanced Korean language learners were divided into a simple task group (8 teams) and a complex task group (9 teams) and were asked to perform the collaborative writing task, which differed in task complexity along the dimensions [+/-causal reasoning]. To analyse the quantity of interaction, the number of PREs and the number of turns within each PRE were measured, and to analyse the quality, the number of ‘appropriately resolved PREs’ was measured. These were then divided into ‘pragmalinguistic features’ and ‘sociopragmatic features’ and measured. Results: The results showed, firstly, that the amount of interaction was partially greater in complex tasks than in simple tasks. Secondly, the interaction of ‘social distance’ in task 1 and ‘supportive moves’, ‘social distance’, and ‘situation’ in task 2 was more pronounced in complex tasks. Conclusion: The finding that task complexity influences learners’ interaction with language use in social contexts extends the scope of related research on task complexity and interaction.
